While not as well known as its fire counterpart, Frost Brands can be as exciting to pick up and play with. A flaming blade can feel overdone, but a frost-bitten blade that freezes the blood of your foes as you cut them open? That’s cool to me!

Feather Tokens are such neat little tools to pull out- they do a bunch of different things depending on which you get. Don’t be afraid to use them, even though they’re consumables that don’t recharge! 

Efreeti are some of the most dangerous monsters in Dungeons & Dragons; not only do they come with a high-damaging multi-attack and ranged spell attack, they have a robust suite of spells that make them stack up against some mid-tier player characters.

Every dwarf character I’ve ever dreamed up would want a Dwarven Thrower. Not only is it a sweet fantasy, it's a powerful addition to many character sheets; if you’re a dwarf, I’d absolutely seek one out!

Want to be impossible to hit? You’re probably going to want some Dwarven Plate, then! Dwarves are known to be master craftsmen, and their armor lives up to the expectation. 

Dragon Scale Mail is the defensive alternative to Arrows of Slaying; they’re silver bullets aimed at protecting you from a single terrifying threat. They can still be handy on their own as magic armor, though, and are welcome additions to any medium armored character! 

Some curses are worth the cost; Demon Armor will be worth it at many tables. You’re trading being crappy at attacking demons for bonus AC and some awesome gauntlets, and I’d take that deal most days.

I can’t hear “Dancing Sword” and not envision that top-hat wearing frog, but instead of a frog it's a bow-tie adorned great sword. This handy musical assistant empowers swordsmen with a bonus action attack that uses all their glorious modifiers to hit and damage. It’s definitely a boon to many martial characters. 

Crystal Balls are the object of seers and diviners. Sauromon the White shows off the potential power that comes with a divining relic to spy on your foes with his palaintir; you, too, can take one of these orbs and see more than normal senses provide!

Arachnida is a fancy class for Spiders and their relatives; this cloak gives you every neat ability our eight-legged friends have to some degree. Want to be Spider-Man? While this won’t give you all of the super-powers Peter Parker shows off, it will do a decent impression in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. 

They aren’t complicated, but my goodness they are iconic; Carpets of Flying goes hand in hand with a mid tier D&D party like peanut butter and jelly. All versions of them can be a major asset to the team, especially teams that lack a lot of flight capabilities. 

Alignment is a dying mechanic in modern D&D; one of the few remaining major items that work with the system is the Candle of Invocation. These are major assets to parties aligned to a specific alignment- getting one can be a compelling reason to figure out exactly how your character feels about the world, and get them on the alignment axis aligned with your Candle!

Where Bags of Holding are a party’s best friend, a Bag of Devouring is their worst nightmare. These are instant death mechanicisms unsuspecting players can be eaten by in an instance; as a DM, use with caution! 

Arrows of Slaying are as close to silver bullets you get in D&D outside of actual silvered bullets. These are the tools of dragon and giant slayers alike, aimed at taking down the strongest foe, crafted out of hatred and forged for destruction. 

Do you need a free hand for some material components? Normally, you’d need to forgo your shield or weapon to achieve this- with an Animated Shield, you can have it all!

Want an at will “Get Out of Jail Free” card? Get an Amulet of the Planes! This handy dandy very rare item can give you a free Plane Shift daily that usually puts you close to where you want to be.

Druids are already one of the strongest classes in the game on account of their full spellcasting, great spell list, powerful subclass abilities, and the utility of Wildshape. To add to this power is a bit foolhardy, but obviously the designers disagree.

As the class that gets nearly everything you could ask for, the Cleric relies very little upon outside help to make it powerful. That being said, there are a surprising number of magic items specifically tailored and exclusive to Clerics (and also Paladins sometimes).

As a full caster class, the Bard is pretty self-sufficient. You could play an entire campaign as a straight classed Bard with no magic items and still likely be the strongest member of your party by just selecting the best spells.
