You can breathe underwater for 1 hour after drinking this potion.

Water Breathing is a tool that’s typically at its best when it opens up new areas of exploration. Potions of Water Breathing come in as a way to engage in underwater combat and exploration out the gate for groups looking to hunt for sunken treasure or converse with a Merfolk society.
Water Breathing is a 3rd level ritual spell that provides eight hours of underwater breathing. It tends to replace a need for this in the mid-tiers.
Being able to breathe underwater doesn’t otherwise empower your underwater combat prowess, nor does it improve your movement underwater.
The underwater combat rules are the following:
When making a melee weapon attack, a creature that doesn't have a swimming speed (either natural or granted by magic) has disadvantage on the attack roll unless the weapon is a dagger, javelin, shortsword, spear, or trident.
A ranged weapon attack automatically misses a target beyond the weapon's normal range. Even against a target within normal range, the attack roll has disadvantage unless the weapon is a crossbow, a net, or a weapon that is thrown like a javelin (including a spear, trident, or dart).
Creatures and objects that are fully immersed in water have resistance to fire damage.
