Sword of Life Stealing 5e
Weapon (any sword), rare (requires attunement)
When you attack a creature with this magic weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, that target takes an extra 10 necrotic damage if it isn't a construct or an undead. You also gain 10 temporary hit points.

Want to steal some life? Get a Sword of Life Stealing! When you roll a 20, you get a bonus of temporary hit points while dealing some extra damage!
The magic nature of the sword makes it overcome resistances to non-magical weapon damage types, but doesn’t provide an innate modifier to the weapons hit or damage rolls.
Any sword can be a sword of life stealing- shortsword, greatsword, longsword, or rapier.
Rolling a 20 isn’t necessarily the same as scoring a critical hit; champion fighters don’t get the bonus 10 necrotic damage and 10 temporary hit points when they crit on a 19 while wielding this.
The temporary hit points aren’t contingent on dealing the necrotic damage; you gain the temporary hit points against undead and constructs while not dealing the damage to them.
