Spellguard Shield 5e
Armor (shield), very rare (requires attunement)
While holding this shield, you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, and spell attacks have disadvantage against you.
A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.

Advantage on saving throws against spells is a massive boon to martial characters in the upper tiers. This single item can take your character from constantly debilitated by enemy magic to getting to kick the crap out of that spellcasting bully who tried to take over your mind!
“Magical effects” is a wide umbrella; what constitutes magic will vary wildly from table to table.
As an example, rules as written, dragon breath weapons aren’t considered magical- your mileage may vary DM to DM.
There are only a handful of spell-based spell attack rolls in the game, but substantially more monster attack rolls that are codified as “spell attacks”.
The shield otherwise has the same benefits as a mundane shield, and provides no additional AC bonuses.
