Ring of X-Ray Vision 5e
Ring, rare (requires attunement)
While wearing this ring, you can use an action to speak its command word. When you do so, you can see into and through solid matter for 1 minute. This vision has a radius of 30 feet. To you, solid objects within that radius appear transparent and don't prevent light from passing through them. The vision can penetrate 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or up to 3 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances block the vision, as does a thin sheet of lead.
Whenever you use the ring again before taking a long rest, you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion.

If you’ve ever wanted superpowers in your D&D games, a Ring of X-Ray Vision is about as on the nose as you can get. It may not be that effective in most scenarios, but it's a cute little trick to pull out from time to time to make sure you aren’t getting surprised by lurking ambushers or false promises!
You can wear as many rings as you have fingers, with no other limitations beyond the regular magic item limitations like attunement.
30 feet is pretty small when we’re working with vision; this makes this ring excel at close inspection first and foremost, and less so as a great tool for scouting ahead into multiple rooms.
Thick walls block its effect entirely, and multiple uses can be detrimental to your health, so use it wisely!
Light is warped for you, which is bizarre- it means an enclosed room that’s pitch dark can be lit up should the ceiling be thin enough, and a torch can illuminate a room next to you or a crate you’re looking into.
Thank you for visiting!
