Hat of Disguise 5e
Wondrous Item, uncommon (requires attunement)
While wearing this hat, you can use an action to cast the disguise self spell from it at will. The spell ends if the hat is removed.
Commentary by Sam West, Twitter: @CrierKobold
Disguise Self is a classic 1st level effect for giving you an illusory facade to bamboozle the world and frame that one NPC that grinds your gears. If a spell slot is a bit too costly for you, or you just want even more Disguise Self goodness, pick up a Hat of Disguise!
With each feature you change with Disguise self, you increase the room for people to see through it. Choose precisely and carefully what you look like to slip seamlessly into place as somebody you’re not!
The hat is technically casting the spell, not you, so you can’t enhance it with features like Metamagic.
Attunement makes the hat only work for one party member at a time; choose wisely!
