Cubic Gate 5e
Wondrous Item, legendary
This cube is 3 inches across and radiates palpable magical energy. The six sides of the cube are each keyed to a different plane of existence, one of which is the Material Plane. The other sides are linked to planes determined by the GM.
You can use an action to press one side of the cube to cast the Gate spell with it, opening a portal to the plane keyed to that side. Alternatively, if you use an action to press one side twice, you can cast the Plane Shift spell (save DC 17) with the cube and transport the targets to the plane keyed to that side.
The cube has 3 charges. Each use of the cube expends 1 charge. The cube regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.

If you’re doing some plane-traversing adventures but lack high-powered wizards to transport the party around, a Cubic Gate may be just the item to seek out! Gate and Plane Shift both are fantastic tools to have access to, and six planes are plenty to start working from.
Gate, the spell, creates a portal linked to a specific location on a specific plane, meaning this takes you anywhere you want to go on the six planes.
You can’t cast Gate’s other mode with this spell, nor can you cast it to go to a different plane than the six provided.
Gate doesn’t restrict specific creatures from entering; if you’re in danger, Plane Shift, while less accurate, can just take the creatures you want to the other plane as opposed to opening a portal any creature can follow you through.
