Your exposure to the Feywild's magic has changed you, granting you the following benefits:
Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You learn the Misty Step spell and one 1st-level spell of your choice. The 1st-level spell must be from the Divination or Enchantment school of magic. You can cast each of these spells without expending a spell slot. Once you cast either of these spells in this way, you can't cast that spell in this way again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level. The spells' spellcasting ability is the ability increased by this feat.
Fey Touched: The Magic Touch
Review by Sam West, Twitter:@CrierKobold
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything took one of the best feats in the game, Magic Initiate, the said “what if you also got ability scores with them AND a 2nd level spell slot?” Enter Fey Touched, one of a few magic school specific spells that easily lands as one of the best feats in the game.
This feat functionally is two bonus spell slots per long rest, one 2nd level, and one 1st level. One is always Misty Step, a versatile tool most characters can make great use of, and the other is any 1st level divination or enchantment spell. Big hitters include Hunter's Mark, Detect Magic, Identify, and Speak with Animals for the divination group and Bless, Charm Person, Command, Dissonant Whispers, Hex, Sleep, and Hideous Laughter in the enchantment school. Some of these are good enough I’d consider taking them with Magic Initiate; I’d be into Hex on my ranged fighters, or an extra Bless on my full support bard builds. An extra save or die with Hideous Laughter can be majorly impactful at most tiers of play, and Sleep is a handy, finicky spell to have on your sheet that gets a bit worse in the upper tiers but really shines early on.
In the low tiers, this feat can feel like you’re cheating. Getting two extra spells you can cast is a massive deal. This can feel akin to a martial damaging feat when paired with the attack support spells with long durations (Hex or Hunter’s Mark), both of which empower martial characters' attack rolls while also giving them a 30 ft. bonus action teleport once per short rest. That’s big game.
You can comfortably take any of these and get a lot of use out of them. I’d absolutely take this feat if it didn’t even give out a free ability score point. If you need a +1 Wis, Cha, or Int, this is easily the best feat in the game for you and a no-brainer to pick up as soon as possible. Both martial and caster characters will love all the options it opens up, and while it may not be the flashiest feat to pick up past 10th level, it will still expand your repertoire and give you a larger total resource pool to empower your average fight. Fey Touched is the real deal.
