Actor isn’t particularly powerful, but man, it's super fun. It turns you into a vocal chameleon with the tools you need to pass for whatever creatures you’re interacting with in a competent way. How often you’ll get use out of it will have two major contributing factors: your imagination, and the DMs willingness to put you in places with important people you can interact with personally before major events.
Read MoreDungeon Delver 5e
Dungeon Delver screams retro D&D. Every element of it cares about the dungeons of old with secret doors on otherwise plain walls and a seemingly endless barrage of traps you bring a ten-foot long pole with you to navigate past.
Read MoreGrappler 5e
Grappler finds its way onto players who want to play the wrestler fantasy or grappling lock-down frontliner, and encourages them to kill themselves. It asks you to stop hitting your enemies, stop moving, and do nothing.
Read MoreDual Wielder 5e
God this feat is such a letdown. It has a whole bunch of foundational problems, chief among them being how it tricks people into trying to work with weapons that have no business being on a dual wielder’s character sheet.
Read MoreObservant 5e
Observant leans on a mechanic that is somewhat controversial (passive skills) with the bulk of its mechanical power, and comes with a bonus Wisdom that can often make it feel “free”.
Read MoreAberrant Dragonmark 5e
When selecting the Dragonmark Feat, the player taking said feat would gain the ability to innate cast cantrips and spells based on a table given with the feat; The Dragonmarked Benefits table. In the said table, the spellcasting ability is listed, with the player being able to cast the chosen spell at the lowest level, though once they have cast a spell in this manner, must take a long rest before doing so again.

Tavern Brawler slaps. This feat is unironically one of the best feats you can take if you’re flipping an odd score to an even one. Each component combines to make a character who excels at thinking on their feet and using their environment.
Read MoreLinguist 5e
To justify Linguist then I think you really need to have a plan for using the cipher text and get something out of the +1 Int. If you’re bumping an odd Int score to an even one for the extra modifier, at tables with diverse language usage, this can be enough and feel justifiable.
Read MoreMage Slayer 5e
There are few features in this game that feel as niche as Mage Slayer. This is a spell for martial characters to attempt to bully casters… so long as you can get in range to damage them.
Read MoreSentinel 5e
If you really want to play a character that locks down baddies, pairing Sentinel with a reach weapon (and the Polearm Master feat if you’re feeling frisky) opens up a massive area of control that makes it difficult for anything to engage anyone within 10 feet of you.
Read MoreLucky 5e
Lucky is the perfect storm when it comes to examining 5th edition’s problems. If you're wondering if you should ban it at your table, or if you’re a player wondering if it's good enough to take, the answer in both cases is absolutely.
Read MoreGreat Weapon Master 5e
Great Weapon Master is THE feat to realize your big damage number dreams. I hope you like math, cause we’re talking the math behind weapon attacks and why it's almost always right to attack with Great Weapon Master’s damage for hit trade!

Fell Handed 5e
This feat is very useful in the hands of a Barbarian, either going full Barbarian or going Multiclass, but other melee-based classes can take this feat. Personally, I believe that besides a Barbarian, a Fighter or Paladin can take this feat as well, allowing multiple people to aid the party in such a big way while also dealing extra damage to the enemy without having to multiclass or forsake the melee-based class they want to take.
Read MoreWar Caster 5e
War Caster hits all the marks I want a feat to hit. It gives players a new toy to play with, empowers a specific genre and playstyle of character that could use support, and does so in a way that is powerful specifically to that archetype.
Read MoreSharpshooter 5e
Sharpshooter is so good, it's a mistake. Nobody else really can play at this axis as early as Sharpshooter; this is a long ranged option that removes the majority of counterplay to attack back at it up until you’re in the upper tiers of play.
